| Happy Gem #100 (with some delay) |

The RubyGems project reached
100 packages during the last RubyConf, just in time for Jim Weirich’s
talk. Several RPA contributors
created a small present for the RubyGems team to commemorate that
event… I’ve found it lost in /tmp and thought
it’d be interesting enough to justify a blog entry :P
Unfortunately, the original version was not appropriate for the sensitive US audience predominant at RubyConf, so Jim couldn’t show it during his talk, lest somebody be offended. For the viewing pleasure of the more impressionable ones, a US-safe version was created. The package count keeps increasing and now that the RubyGems team has committed itself to making their packages repackager-friendly, that’s good news for everybody. We must only hope they will soon tackle this important issue :) |
